Canon Final Evaluation (Canon)

Image
So first of all I did research on examples of posters and what codes and conventions they contain. This helped me get to know more about posters and what I will need to do to make my own. This will ultimately help me with my final product and it's production style. I also researched into journeys and what makes something a journey. This helped further my knowledge on journeys and what they contain this helps with production because my project is on journeys. After that I did some research into my target audience so I could get to know more about who they are and what they like. This will help me with my final product because I could then make sure to do something that would suit my target audience. My target audience was young 16 to 24 year old's so I made sure to base my product around them. Here are a few pictures from my research PowerPoint as you can see I did a lot of research on various different things.   After that I began to plan my product I did a quick sketch ...

My Final Product (Canon)

Image
Here is my final Canon product I made using Photoshop. I experimented with different colours and variants. I personally prefer the first one due to it's realistic and natural colour scheme. I think the last one ruins the text and slogan and I think the second one is a bit to colourful.

Canon Post Production Diary (Canon)

Once I had took my pictures I loaded them into Photoshop and began editing. I used Photoshop because it's very convenient, useful and accessible. Photoshop allowed me to create and edit my poster using filters and edits. The first thing I did was put both pictures on one page. I did this by opening another image and dragging it onto they other one I had open. This allows me to merge the 2 pictures together which is crucial to my poster design. This edit is really simple and basic yet crucial to the products progression.          The next edit I did was add a layer mask so I could edit the image without permanently damaging it. This is good for reverting mistakes and errors as well as encouraging experimentation. This is a good thing to add because it makes the process easier. After that I decided the fade the 2 images together using the gradient tool. This helped me to merge the 2 pictures together and create they effect I wanted. In order to do this I dragged th...

My Smile Campaign Evaluation (Smile Advert And Podcast)

Image
So the Smile campaign advert is something I made for the mental health charity Mind. I did this by researching into Mind as a charity and finding out more about who they are and what they do. I made a PowerPoint diving into Mind and their history so I could get a better understanding of who I was working for. This links to AC1-Informing Ideas since I was informing ideas about my client. I researched into pre existing products and events that Mind have been involved in such as Charity Football events. I did this to get a better understanding of what type of products Mind invest in. This helped me with my product since it helped me get to know more about the companies tastes and interests. I posted a few pictures above.  I then began to research into my target audience by making a google survey and sharing it around the class. I felt that this was important because if you don't know your target audience and you make a product that doesn't appeal to them you could end up getting i...

Here is the video for my final podcast I did for the Smile campaign. I did it about Pokemon BDSP and went over my thoughts on the game. I ran it through premier pro and added a suitable image.

My Post Production Diary Feedback On My First Draft (Smile)

Image
So for my feedback I created a survey on Google forms and asked a few questions. I did this so I could get some honest opinions on my draft because sometimes a fresh pair of eyes can help you get to know whether or not what you've done well. So that aside I opened up Google forms and started asking some questions. Once I made the survey I then shared to the Smile Campaign teams chat to get some opinions. One of the main questions I asked where does this advert fit in with the Smile Campaign. I asked this because I think it is important that my advert fits the brief otherwise I will fail. For this I did a few tick boxes so people would be willing to answer. So thankfully everyone said that my advert fits in with the campaign so I don't have anything to worry about when it comes to that.  The next question I asked was would you change anything. This question is important to get other peoples ideas on how you can improve your product. This will help me get to know what I didn...

My Canon Production Diary (Canon)

Image
So for my product I went out and took a bunch of images which I then used to make my poster. I took these images using my phone (Samsung Galaxy S20 FE) and I took them in two different locations. This first one I took was a picture of the outside part of the college campus I took this photo around about mid day. I thought a picture of a college campus would appeal to my young youthful audience. I took this picture using my hands and so I didn't any tripods or any other professional equipment. I think this picture is good because it is nice and clear and it suits the target audience I am going for. This next picture I took was of my back garden more notably my door step. Just like the first one I used my hands and phone to take this picture because I really had to back myself into a corner to capture this angle so I didn't have any room for my tripod. I thought a picture of my doorstep would be good because I want to blend the doorstep in with the campus to create a bit of a po...
