My Smile Campaign Evaluation (Smile Advert And Podcast)

Image
So the Smile campaign advert is something I made for the mental health charity Mind. I did this by researching into Mind as a charity and finding out more about who they are and what they do. I made a PowerPoint diving into Mind and their history so I could get a better understanding of who I was working for. This links to AC1-Informing Ideas since I was informing ideas about my client. I researched into pre existing products and events that Mind have been involved in such as Charity Football events. I did this to get a better understanding of what type of products Mind invest in. This helped me with my product since it helped me get to know more about the companies tastes and interests. I posted a few pictures above.  I then began to research into my target audience by making a google survey and sharing it around the class. I felt that this was important because if you don't know your target audience and you make a product that doesn't appeal to them you could end up getting i...

My Post Production Diary Feedback On My First Draft (Smile)

Image
So for my feedback I created a survey on Google forms and asked a few questions. I did this so I could get some honest opinions on my draft because sometimes a fresh pair of eyes can help you get to know whether or not what you've done well. So that aside I opened up Google forms and started asking some questions. Once I made the survey I then shared to the Smile Campaign teams chat to get some opinions. One of the main questions I asked where does this advert fit in with the Smile Campaign. I asked this because I think it is important that my advert fits the brief otherwise I will fail. For this I did a few tick boxes so people would be willing to answer. So thankfully everyone said that my advert fits in with the campaign so I don't have anything to worry about when it comes to that.  The next question I asked was would you change anything. This question is important to get other peoples ideas on how you can improve your product. This will help me get to know what I didn...

My Canon Production Diary (Canon)

Image
So for my product I went out and took a bunch of images which I then used to make my poster. I took these images using my phone (Samsung Galaxy S20 FE) and I took them in two different locations. This first one I took was a picture of the outside part of the college campus I took this photo around about mid day. I thought a picture of a college campus would appeal to my young youthful audience. I took this picture using my hands and so I didn't any tripods or any other professional equipment. I think this picture is good because it is nice and clear and it suits the target audience I am going for. This next picture I took was of my back garden more notably my door step. Just like the first one I used my hands and phone to take this picture because I really had to back myself into a corner to capture this angle so I didn't have any room for my tripod. I thought a picture of my doorstep would be good because I want to blend the doorstep in with the campus to create a bit of a po...

My Post Production Diary For The Podcast (Smile Podcast)

Image
So when it comes to editing podcasts I will admit I'm very inexperienced and with there being no video I got a bit stuck on what to add so I kept it quite basic. For the editing software I used Logic Pro because It's practical and I already recorded the podcast using Logic so it made sense to stick with it. Logic Pro is an audio recording software often used to record audio based media such as interviews and podcasts. The computer I'm using to edit is a Apple Mac made by popular tech brand Apple.  Logic helped me put the podcast together so I could use it for this project. Without Logic I would be pretty stuck because it has been crucial to my podcast creation and production. The first thing I did was listen to my podcast and cut out all of the fails and blank parts. This makes the podcast better because there is less unnecessary filler boring the consumer. To do this I turned on advanced tools equipped scissors and every time I needed to cut something out I'd click th...

My Production Diary (Smile)

12.01.22 I filmed the first part of the advert in my bedroom by using my tripod and phone to capture the shots. For the first shot I positioned the tripod towards my bed and made it taller. I did this so it is looking down at me to show that my character is mentally down. I then positioned my tripod towards the door for my second shot. I did this to try and make it so the camera is my eyes and it's seeing what I'm seeing. I then went behind the door and threw the camera through the door crack it's a bit random but it works. After that I pointed the tripod towards the ground and filmed me picking up the camera.  I then took my camera/phone out of my tripod and leaned it on my TV so I could film the showcase. I used my phone to get an alternative angle of the showcase. 24.01.22 I then went to Barnes Park to film the rest of the advert but didn't manage to take my tripod. I filmed the lake using my phone but pretended to film it on the camera by rotating my shots. This wi...

My Canon Project Planning

Image
Here is a quick bit of concept art of my project.  So my project for the Canon Brief is going to be about my journey to College.  I chose this because it's relatable for my target audience due to most of them being 16 to 24 so they probably go to College or University. It's also very accessible and easy to execute. The Picture is going to be of me walking in between 2 different places. It would make sense to do a print advert for this campaign because it will be good promotion for Canon and their products. Making a print advert will also help put the point of the campaign across. I'm going to use a fairly balanced colour scheme because I like variety when it comes to colours.

Risks with my recording (Smile)

So here is a small list of risks that might happen during production. Struck By Lightning : This is a very low risk and something that is completely out of my control.  Sinkhole : They exact same thing applies to this it's a very low risk and completely out of my control. Getting Jumped For Expensive Equipment : So this one is a fairly low risk however I do have to be wary of who's around when I bring out certain equipment, I should also make sure I film during daylight hours. Falling Over : So this is also a seriously low risk but there is a small chance I could fall whilst filming outside. Risk assessment template from ElliotDaroczy

Why I Did The Script And Storyboard (Smile)

I did my script and storyboard to show people what my advert is about. The storyboard gives them a better visual understanding of what my story is about. Meanwhile the script let's them know more about the story. The benefits of having these is that if you are suggesting your idea to a company you are more likely to convince them to invest in your product. Many people use storyboards to help guide them through the production process so they stay on topic and don't go off track.  I drew my storyboard on a piece of a4 paper and took a picture of it and uploaded it to teams. I then uploaded it to blogger.  I wrote my script on Celtx and took a screenshot. I then uploaded it to blogger alongside my storyboard.

My Script And Storyboard (Smile)

Here is some pictures of my script and storyboard I used Celtx to write the script and I drew my storyboard. These give the audience a greater understanding of my product and what I am going for. If I don't provide these then there might end up being some uncertainty around what I'm doing.

The Pitch (Smile)

The pitch from ElliotDaroczy  Extra Location Information When it comes to my locations I think my house is very suitable, safe and accessible. First of all my bedroom will be a good place to film the first part since it's set in a bedroom. As well as this I will be limiting the safety risks that come with filming in unfamiliar locations. Barnes park is a good place to film the second part since it's very accessible and ticks all the boxes when it comes to scenery. I can access this location fairly easily which means I can film without much fuss.
