My Post Production Diary (Editing Smile)

So I decided to edit my video on Kinemaster instead of Premiere Pro because I'm more familiar with the layout, modes and settings plus I can access it from home so it is convenient. For my advert I decided to keep things fairly simple because adverts are more about convincing people to invest in your product whilst putting a point across than flexing your editing skills. One of the edits I chose to use was the pan and zoom effect. This simple yet effective edit allows you zoom in and out of videos or focus on a certain area. I used this because I thought it would help make people focus on my characters facial expressions rather than the background, equipment and shadows. Plus I think it adds a bit more flair to my advert. I decided to add non copyrighted music because my advert didn't have any dialog so it would have been pretty empty without it. I think the soundtrack I chose goes well with the theme of the advert because it starts of sad and picks up as it goes on. Track nam...

Smile Podcast Production Diary (Smile Podcast)

Image
So for my podcast I went to one of the studios to record the audio. I took a microphone, stand, pop protector and a digital interface box. For my recording software I used logic pro on the computer because it's easy to use. Here are a few pictures of my setup!  So when I was recording my podcast I made sure to try and speak with a clear voice to grab they attention of the viewer. I decided to try and make a few jokes here and there in an attempt to try and not make the podcast boring. The podcast took me about 30 minutes to record (including fails). I think that the podcast would have been longer if I wasn't doing it solo. I'd say I was quite comfortable recording my voice since I've been dabbling in similar industries for a number of years. I did a few minor issues with Logic at the start (podcast not recording) but the issues were fixed with a click of a few buttons. The room itself was very efficient and soundproof so I had no issues whatsoever. Once I was done with...

My Production Diary (Smile)

12.01.22 I filmed the first part of the advert in my bedroom by using my tripod and phone to capture the shots. For the first shot I positioned the tripod towards my bed and made it taller. I did this so it is looking down at me to show that my character is mentally down. I then positioned my tripod towards the door for my second shot. I did this to try and make it so the camera is my eyes and it's seeing what I'm seeing. I then went behind the door and threw the camera through the door crack it's a bit random but it works. After that I pointed the tripod towards the ground and filmed me picking up the camera.  I then took my camera/phone out of my tripod and leaned it on my TV so I could film the showcase. I used my phone to get an alternative angle of the showcase. 24.01.22 I then went to Barnes Park to film the rest of the advert but didn't manage to take my tripod. I filmed the lake using my phone but pretended to film it on the camera by rotating my shots. This wi...

My Canon Project Planning

Image
Here is a quick bit of concept art of my project.  So my project for the Canon Brief is going to be about my journey to College.  I chose this because it's relatable for my target audience due to most of them being 16 to 24 so they probably go to College or University. It's also very accessible and easy to execute. The Picture is going to be of me walking in between 2 different places. It would make sense to do a print advert for this campaign because it will be good promotion for Canon and their products. Making a print advert will also help put the point of the campaign across. I'm going to use a fairly balanced colour scheme because I like variety when it comes to colours.

Risks with my recording (Smile)

So here is a small list of risks that might happen during production. Struck By Lightning : This is a very low risk and something that is completely out of my control.  Sinkhole : They exact same thing applies to this it's a very low risk and completely out of my control. Getting Jumped For Expensive Equipment : So this one is a fairly low risk however I do have to be wary of who's around when I bring out certain equipment, I should also make sure I film during daylight hours. Falling Over : So this is also a seriously low risk but there is a small chance I could fall whilst filming outside. Risk assessment template from ElliotDaroczy
